Anxiety Unplugged: An outlet for self-exploration, creative coping, mindfulness and connection
This group workshop is co-facilitated by fellow colleague Leanne Sawchuk (Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist) and myself, and is created for adults who experience anxiety.
This unique, multi-session workshop focuses on the development of group cohesion and trust, which allows for a feeling of safety, and leads to powerful moments of witnessing others experience, and sharing one’s own. We create a space to explore themes such as the emotions and experience of anxiety, where this anxiety may originate, and where/how it is felt in the body. Further, we explore how the experience of anxiety affects other parts of one’s world, including personal relationships, work, school, and one’s personal identity.
We invite this inner exploration through creative directives involving artmaking and mindfulness that allow for new insight and awareness to be captured. Thus, the often lonely experience of anxiety is safely explored amongst fellow peers in an accepting, supportive group space, paving ways for immense personal growth and discovery.
