How COVID-19 Affects Therapy with Jazmine

January 14, 2021

With the recent announcements of the lockdown and stay-at-home order, I am strongly encouraging virtual sessions to the greatest extent possible, as advised by the College of Regulated Psychotherapists of Ontario. Video or phone sessions are available Monday to Thursday each week. For video sessions I use the doxy.me platform which is end-to-end encrypted, therefore confidential, and requires the click of a link.

For clients who do not have access to a private space, and an internet-connected device, as a regulated health professional I am still able to offer in-person sessions so that all clients can receive support. At Three Tides Wellness, we continue all screening, disinfecting, and distancing safety protocols. In-person sessions for youth and adults are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

If you have any questions about which session type might be best for you, please do not hesitate to connect, as I would be happy to talk this through with you. I thank you all so much for your patience and understanding.

Please see the protocols for virtual and in-person sessions below:

In-Person Session Procedures for Youth and Adults

Please note that as with entering any shared public space, there is a risk for transmission, however the following procedures are put in place to reduce this risk as much as possible:

  1. I will call 1-2 days prior to your session to do a pre-screening (the screening questions I will ask are listed below and provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health). This is important as if any symptoms are present, this gives us time to shift to a video session.

  2. The waiting room is not available for use. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your session and wait on the porch at Three Tides Wellness. Please call me directly when you arrive (647-990-7692) so I can complete a second and final screening before inviting you into the space.

  3. Clients will enter through a front door and exit through a back door.

  4. Both client and therapist are required to wear a mask for the duration of the session.

  5. In the therapy space, the chair/couch will be 6 feet apart to allow for physical distancing.

  6. Hand sanitizer will be available for use, please use this when you arrive.

  7. 25 minutes is scheduled between all in-person clients. This allows me to spray the couch with a fabric lysol product, as well as the high traffic surfaces.

  8. Art materials are not being offered for use at this time. If clients would like to bring some materials of their own to use while seated on the couch, they are welcome to.

  9. Payment for sessions will be e-transfer only.

In Case Symptoms Develop: If you are sick, or develop symptoms prior to our scheduled session, please let me know as soon as you are able. A cancellation policy will not apply for cancellations less than 24 hours for reasons related to sickness during this time.
